In Vermont

Kathie and I drove for two days through rural Pennsylvania and New York.  The countryside was beautiful: rolling hills through the Susquehanna River valley.

We arrived in Shelburne, Vermont to a lovely village by Lake Champlain with sunny skies and low humidity.

Our first night, we explored the lakeshore where we found square dancing and a crowd enjoying a lovely sunset over the lake.
For our first day, we got bike maps and drove up through Winooski and on to the islands in Lake Champlain.  We drove through Hero and Northern hero island, and then biked onto Isle Lemotte, where we saw a monument to Champlain by the lake and scenic, quaint villages.
